The
City of North Myrtle Beach was
chartered May 7th, 1968
when Windy Hill Beach, Crescent Beach, Ocean Drive Beach and Cherry
Grove Beach Became one.
North Myrtle Beach covers 9
miles of beach and about 15 square miles. More than 12,000 Permanent
residents, 3.5 million annual visitors, beach homes, hotels, motels and
multi-storied condominiums make up our city. Theatres, shopping centers,
restaurants, city parks and other serve the local economy with jobs and
revenues while entertaining all.
Main
Street is a great place to shop, eat, and plan
your next trip to North Myrtle Beach. These are locally owned family
businesses and you will find that they care about you stay and
appreciate your business.. Take a walk towards the ocean to the
"horseshoe." This is a local landmark and home to many events.
From here, step out on to beautiful beaches that North Myrtle Beach is
noted for. Ocean Drive North Myrtle Beach and is where you will
find the Post Office, Library, city municipal building and many national
retailers and fast food restaurants and fine dining.

The Cherry Grove sector of North
Myrtle Beach
offers, arguably, the best fishing along the Grand Strand.
The Cherry
Grove pier is know as a great spot for fishing or just for a scenic
walk. Forgot your pole? Don't worry. They can sell you one or rent you
one...including bait and tackle they can give you plenty of tips and
even rig your pole for you. There are several marinas in Cherry Grove
that offer deep sea fishing and charter boats or scenic cruises on the
Atlantic Ocean. You can also rent a boat and go out on your own.
North
Myrtle Beach continues to grow
because of the hard work and care of those who love this fine
community. The mayor and four council members
represent not only the interests of the permanent residents, but also those
of vacation property owners and tourists alike. A strong public works
department, superior public safety officers, a thriving recreation
department and others you never even see, are all at work to make this the
city you will want to return to year after year. And like many others, you
may even return to join us permanently! However you come, as a permanent
resident or a vacationing visitor, you will find North Myrtle Beach, South
Carolina is the best place to vacation or live on the Grand Strand.
